Recapa

Terms of Use

Last updated: 17 October 2026

By using Recapa you agree to these terms. If you obtained the app from the App Store, Apple's Standard End User License Agreement also applies.

The app

Recapa records audio and uses speech recognition and AI to produce transcripts, notes, exam points, to-dos and answers. It is provided "as is", without warranties. Transcripts and AI-generated content can contain mistakes, especially with background noise, distant speakers or several people talking at once. Always check important information against the original recording. Recapa is not intended for medical, legal or other records where accuracy is critical.

Recording responsibly

You are responsible for following the recording laws where you are, including getting the consent of everyone you record, and for respecting the rules of your school or workplace.

Your data

Your recordings are stored on your device. Keep your own backups; we cannot recover recordings removed from your device.

Recapa Pro and hour packs

Pro is offered as an auto-renewing subscription billed monthly, every 6 months or yearly. Some plans include a free trial; if you do not cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, the subscription starts and you are charged. Payment is charged to your App Store account at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings. Pro includes a monthly allowance of cloud transcription; unused monthly minutes do not carry over. Hour packs are one-time purchases that add cloud transcription time and do not expire. Hour packs are linked to the app installed on your device and are not restored if you delete and reinstall the app. Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies.

Fair use

To keep the service affordable, cloud features have monthly limits, and cloud transcription is limited to 200 requests per account per day (each request is one part of a recording, up to about 10 minutes). Requests over the daily limit wait until the next day. Cloud features may also be rate-limited if used in an automated or abusive way.

Changes

We may update the app and these terms. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
